By Kaitlin Hurtado on September 9, 2016

To college students, the word “discount” is like a breath of fresh air in the muggy world of student loans and tuition fees.

The amount of college student discounts out there can be surprising, and can be claimed as yours with a verified “.edu” email, a school ID, or other forms of proof of enrollment.

Update your wardrobe with deals on retailers like Urban Outfitters, asos, Cotton On, and UNIF. College student discounts usually range between 10-20 percent off and are sometimes paired with free shipping.

Check local thrift stores for their special offers — many have select days that offer an exclusive student discount.

Local bus lines also offer college student discounts. For UCI students there is the University Pass from OCTA for $169. With a University Pass, you get unlimited access to all of Orange County through OCTA buses.
