Binge-Watch Alert: Favorite YouTube Vloggers

YouTube has something for any internet lurker: makeup/fashion gurus, product reviews and demos, music streaming, game play, etc. One of my favorite things to come out of YouTube is the art of vlogging, or, video blogging.

Vlogs are perfect binge watching material for moments where you just need something to watch while you’re eating a meal alone or as background noise as you get ready for the day. Whether they film with iPhone cameras or small and compact Canons, these vloggers are some of my personal favorites.

Rachel Nguyen (thatschic)

Originally a blogger, Nguyen has added a YouTube channel under her content creator belt. Nguyen put her own personal brand on the trendy Vlogmas (Usually a daily vlog posted for the month of December) with #31DaysofThatsChic as she documented her daily life during December of last year.

This past July, she brought back #31DaysofThatsChic with the addition of questions of the day asked by her viewers, offering advice that would make a viewer see Nguyen as the cool, hip older sister they have or don’t have. Between her carefree attitude, enthusiasm for California sun, and her music taste (the music featured in her vlogs were so good, they warranted their own playlist here), Nguyen is easily a must-watch on YouTube.

Estée Lalonde (Essiebuttonvlogs)

Much like Nguyen, Lalonde runs her own blog to post about lifestyle, fashion, food, and much more. As a spin-off of her main YouTube channel, this vlog channel showcases “Everyday Estée” to a T.

The Canada native films her daily life in London and her travels to elsewhere. Her vlogs commonly feature witty boyfriend/vlogger-in-crime Aslan and ultra-adorable, dream pup Reggie, a retired racing greyhound.

With three years worth of vlogs, Lalonde has created perfect binge-watching material that’ll make it hard for any viewer to pick a favorite. But personally, the three-vlog-long series of the couple scouting the perfect greyhound to adopt (Spoiler: It’s their current pup-child, Reggie) is one of my favorites as a dog lover and adoption enthusiast.

Avery Ginsberg (GearedTowardsGear)

With an eye for detail, Ginsberg edits casual moments into an aesthetically-pleasing video that makes a viewer feel like they’re watching short films with how well shot they are. Ginsberg’s affinity for fashion and photography pairs with his laid-back personality, making his vlogs genuine yet well-produced.

His “Winter Break” and “Summer Break” series offer clips of his food hacks and New York adventures through well-thought-out shots.

Anna-Lee and Jesse Fiorino (annaleeandjesse)

The vlogging definition of #RelationshipGoals, married couple Anna-Lee and Jesse Fiorino document their life together at home, work (as a hairstylist and a photographer respectively), and out and about. The vlogging couple completes their family with pups Mookie and Thor, who make plenty of cameos in their videos.

While documenting their life together in Los Angeles, their adventures are enough to satisfy any foodie with their knowledge of local eateries and allow viewers to live vicariously through them on their adventures.

Damon and Jo (DamonAndJo)

If the Fiorinos are the vlogging definition of #RelationshipGoals, Damon and Jo fit the bill of #BestFriendGoals. The duo document their travels around the globe — Europe, Latin America, you name it — and do it well as they aim to make “a travel show for the social media generation: Shut Up and Go” (taken from their channel description).

Their videos are a must for days when you’re getting a touch of cabin fever from balancing your time between lecture halls, the library, and your bed.
