Going on a Road Trip With Friends 101
Going on a road trip with a great group of friends is an awesome idea! Traveling to other destinations is a good way to unwind and do something out of the regular routine. Here are some tips that need to be considered when you go on your next road trip.
Find Ways to Stay Entertained
It’s a long trip for you and your friends. The conversation may even start to get dull after a while. A good way to entertain the whole group is play catchy songs in the car. Who doesn’t like to sing along to good music? Also, remember to download apps that are multiplayer. One of my favorite games to play with friends is Heads Up! This game has a player with the phone on the forehead for everyone to see. The other players have to guess the celebrity, animal, movie, or any other category on the person’s forehead. My friends and I always end up having a great laugh playing this game.
Make Multiple Stops Along the Way
If you’re heading for only one destination, you’re missing the whole concept of a roadtrip. Being a roadtrip means to explore places that you’ve never been to before. Everyone in the car should make a list of places they would like to visit before heading back home. To make it easier, these places could be on the way to the official destination. Just make sure that you’re visiting new and interesting places.
Consider Car Sickness
There may be people who start feeling nauseous after being the in the car for so long. There are ways to prevent car sickness such as making frequent stops, opening a car window once in a while, and staying hydrated. If someone gets car sick, try to get them to sit in a different position or fixating their eyes on something else.
Plan Things Ahead of Time
Some people may think that doing things last minute is fun and spontaneous. But in the long run, it won’t benefit the group. Make sure to plan where you all are going to be staying on certain nights. Always have a back up plan as well. Plan where you’re going to be heading. Calculate the time that it might take to get from one place to another. Just make sure to have everything organized so that you guys could get the most out of the road trip.
Bring Healthy Snacks and Water
Bring a cooler on the road with you to store drinks and fruits. When picking out snacks, try to go with the healthier option. Eating healthy food can give you guys more energy compared to eating junk food. Instead of getting cookies and pastries, go for whole grain bars.
I hope these tips go into consideration on your next road trip! Safe travels!
