Abe Lincoln the Vampire Slayer

Yesterday my friend invited me to go see Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. One of my favorite presidents killing vampires, how could I resist? So we get to the movie theater, and firstly, I just want to say, if you’re watching a 3D movie, why aren’t all the previews in 3D? Granted, some of the movies seemed really cool, and I would definitely go see them, shouldn’t you be advertising for more 3D? Anyway, right off the back Abe loses his mother. And when his father finally dies, Abe musters the courage to avenge his mother’s death. What he didn’t realize, was that, spoiler, the man that Abe contributes his mother’s death to, is a vampire! Bet you didn’t see that coming, because I didn’t. And then the movie has a Karate Kid feel to it as Lincoln trains to kill vampires.

Although the cast isn’t filled with big names, there is definitely some raw talent. I hope to see more of Benjamin Walker, who plays Mr. President himself. He had a certain charisma to him. Dominic Cooper, who portrayed Mr. Henry Sturgess was good as well. I don’t think I would have wanted an A-list celebrity anyway, because then it takes away from the character, but that’s just me.

And if you think this movie couldn’t get any better, you’re wrong! It just progresses, like a snowball of awesomeness. Not only do you get to see Abe grow from a lowly shop keep to the President of the United States, you get to see him kick some ass and take names. If I mention any more, it will probably be a major spoiler. So, just take my word for it. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is such a great movie. I don’t even like vampire movies! Go see it. Now.
