Why You Should Own A Dog Some Time In Your Life
Let’s face it. Dogs are a human’s best friend. No matter if you’re a child, a college student or even a senior citizen, you should own a dog. Here are some reasons why should own a dog sometime in your life.
Dogs can boost your mood
It is proven that dogs tend to increase happiness in people. They can always make you smile, trust me, it works! They are always excited when you get home. Imagine coming home from a long stressful day at work, and dog wagging it’s tail, runs up to you. Your mood will definitely change for the better. Also, try looking at a dog’s cute face and try not to smile. It’s impossible!

Dogs allow people to gain responsibility skills
This reason is pretty obvious. Many parents get their children dogs in order for their children to gain responsibly skills. Dogs need to be walked, washed, fed, played with, cleaned up after, and so much more. Many couples own dogs before having their own children. Why specifically a dog you may ask? Well, unlike cats and many other animals, dogs are dependent. They rely on their owner for everything. It is just like raising a child. You have to teach your dog certain things and raise them the way that you want to. As a dog owner, I have learned so much from just having my little dog. For a small dog, she sheds a lot of hair. I have to clean up after her and make she the house has no dog hair lying around. There are also certain times where I have to take her out for a walk.

Dogs give you company
This is the reason that I highly encourage college students to get dogs. Dogs are always there for you, no matter what. It is always nice to have a happy dog to come home to. It is as if you are never lonely if you have a dog. My dad bought a dog for my brother before I left to college so that my brother would not feel lonely. So far, my brother always has a little sister to come home to.
