Turtleneck Sweaters: The Unexpected Trend

The most stressful times for anyone can be when looking through your closet and drawers for hours trying to find something, or just about anything, and nothing seems to be calling out to you. The desire to wear something new and stylish, or for a specific look for an event can be looming over our heads as we battle through our clothing to find anything that will seem to fit our criteria. In the past winter months, I have found a new trend of clothing is going to be sweeping our nation soon, and it is a style that can be worn in all seasons: turtle-neck sweaters.

In my own personal opinion, turtleneck sweaters are coming back in full swing. There are crop top, sweaters,and shirts being molded after the look. My personal favorite look is in the turtle-neck body-con dresses, which adds a bit of power and allure to the look which can also come off as comfortable. Many can claim that turtlenecks came back in Fall of 2015, but I did not see a lot of everyday people rocking the look. I, myself, own several different colors and designs of turtlenecks. The comfort of the cotton warming your neck in the cold wind is an added benefit to the stylistic look. You can add plenty of accessories or wear it by itself, but rocking a turtleneck sweater is going to be a must have in the coming years. The sweater look adds a bit of sophistication to a look, something that I have been personally looking for in the past years. I tried to find it in blazers, jackets, shirts or skirts, but I couldn’t find the correct look. I have found that specific aesthetic with turtle-neck sweaters.

Having already sky rocketed to a fashion trend in Asia, the sweater look will come over to America and other countries soon. Creating a new impact of design, there are sweaters with political stances, models, or artwork printed onto the sweater. This new look can be seen in a lot of magazines, but I haven’t seen anyone wearing this style around anywhere. The look can be sophisticated with an edge or glamorous with comfort. My favorite stylings are shown in this article, but there are so many to choose from. The Fall ’15 line of most designers contained turtle-neck sweaters and I have seen plenty of celebrities wearing them, but not everyday people similar to me have been wearing them. After picking the style off the runway and going through circulation, this is the sophisticated look that is going to be a hit in the upcoming years. So everyone needs to jump on this trend sooner rather than later because the winter season is going to be over soon and then everyone will have to wait for next winter to kill this style.
