Why Your 20s are The Best Years of Your Life
Being in your 20s is probably one of the most confusing yet exciting times of your life. You are at the prime of your youth so you feel invincible, like nothing or no one can stop you. There is so much to do in so little time because time goes by so fast. But nonetheless you manage to have fun and enjoy your life because you only get to be 20 once. Here are 10 reasons why your 20s are the best years of your life:
- You get to attend a college/four-year institution
You’ve made it to your senior year of high school and now it’s time to go to college! All the movies and televisions show that you saw about college life suddenly become a reality. When you get to college you realize that there is so much to do that four years is not really enough time to do it all. There is such joy in being able to just walk over to your best friend’s place and having all your friends nearby so it’s easy to keep in touch. This will probably never happen again once people begin to move and graduate so enjoy it while you can.
2. You get to have your own place
Most people move out of their parents and get their own place in their 20s. Some move out when they go to school, other’s move out when they get a job. Being able to sign a lease for your first apartment and moving in with all your friends is an exciting thing. You have your own room and your own space and you don’t have to worry about getting home late and having to explain to your parents where you were all night.
3. You get to buy your first car
If you were lucky, your parents bought you a car or they gave you their old car while you were in high school. But now that you’re a little older you can actually afford to buy yourself a car. There is nothing more exciting than going car shopping, it can get a little overwhelming but browsing and test driving cars is so much fun. Then all you have to do is sign some papers, have the keys handed over to you and you can drive off in your brand new car.
4. You get your first job offer
Although going to college is fun, it’s also a lot of work. Most people aspire to get a job offer after their graduate. It’s always rewarding to know that all your hard work and networking paid off and that you’ve got all these job offers lined up after you graduate. So don’t give up and keep working hard, those job offers will come in and you will feel so accomplished and so proud.
5. You’re full of energy
It may sound cliché but you’re young and you’re so full of energy. Use this energy that you have and put it to good use. You will still get tired and feel like you just want to stay in bed sometimes but you’ll never be this young ever again so take advantage of your 20s now, because you’re in your prime.
6. It’s a time of learning and growing
Your 20s are a time during which you go through a lot of personal learning and growth. Whether it’s through experiences, family or friends, you will go through a lot of things that will test your character and who you are as a person. You’ll have some good times and some bad times but you will learn from them and you will realize a lot of things about yourself that will help you grow as an individual to make you a better version of yourself.
7. You find who you really are
With personal growth and self realization comes finding yourself. Your 20s are usually the time during which you find your identity in the midst of all the fun and all the chaos. The circumstances that you go through in your 20s will really test you but you will come out of it a better and stronger person.
8. You meet a lot of great people
One of the main reasons why your 20s are your best years is because you meet some of the greatest people. Some you will know forever and others you might never see again for the rest of your life. But the point is that everyone that you meet during this time in your life will play a vital role in the the development of your life. If you get lucky you might even meet the love of your life but even if you don’t you will definitely meet your bridesmaids/groomsmen when you’re in your 20s.
