Current Fashion Wants: February 2016

By Amanda Tejuca on January 22, 2016

February is rapidly approaching, which means the gradual progression into spring fashion has begun. This month, there is still a huge bohemian influence, but there is also a western element being added into the mix. This is a list of fashion staples that will guarantee you a couple of compliments, and an ultra trendy closet if bought together. This list is a guideline that will hopefully help you keep up with the quickly changing world of fashion. With limited funds, it can be hard to not get stuck in last seasons style. Thankfully, all of these pieces can be found in Forever 21.

1. Neutrals

The overarching theme in February fashion is neutrals. A good neutral outfit is easy to pair with anything, and easy to accessorize. Simply throw on a gold or silver choker to add a pop of glam to any neutral outfit. Neons and bright multicolored outfits are so 3 years ago. It is time to go back to the basics.

2. Fringe Heels

The fringe frenzy of fall 2015– the good times. Too bad that this trend is slowly fading for Spring 2016, so grab a pair of fringe heeled sandals before they disappear forever. Sticking to the neutrals theme again, these sandals have that western touch I mentioned earlier. They can be paired with white ripped skinny jeans, or with a body con dress and a duster jacket. The sky is the limit with these!

3. Body Suits

It seems like everywhere you go, there are bodysuits and more bodysuits. They are seen on TV, online, and in every single fashion store or boutique. One can argue this is the biggest fashion trend this season, and I am sure that it’s here to stay. They are convenient, and come in so many  different shapes and forms that it is difficult to choose just one. Plus, it is perfect motivation to workout and get that body right !

4. Wrap Around Necklaces

Definitely one of the more unusual trends we are seeing, is the wrap around necklace. It is reminiscent of an accessory a cowgirl would take to a rodeo, but with a modern twist. It is almost a mix between a choker and a body chain. Plunging down into the midsection, while still giving off the familiar choker look that we have grown to love since fall. It adds a surprising element to a simple outfit, and it is not something that is seen everyday. I can say that this necklace favors the bold.

5. Western Belts

Belts have made an official comeback, but the western belt specifically has taken the fashion industry by storm. Throw on top of high waisted denim shorts, paired with a crop top or body suit for a trendy casual look.
