8 Best New Makeup Products To Look Out For

By Kylie Fife on December 30, 2015

Because it’s the holiday season, almost every makeup brand–high-end and drug store–has come out with something new, whether it’s just one thing or a whole bunch of new products. Here are some of the best new makeup products.

1) Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Eye Shadow Collection ($49, Ulta.com)

Beauty lovers all over the world have raved about Too Faced’s Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Palette and their Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Palette. But now they’ve added a third member to the coveted line of shadow palettes made from Too Faced’s “chocolate-scented, antioxidant-rich cocoa powder formula” (TooFaced.com). With it’s pink case, heart-shaped eyeshadows, and heavenly chocolate scent, this palette is a must-have for any makeup artists or fan of Too Faced’s Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Collection.

2) L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Gloss ($9.99, Ulta.com)

I know what you’re thinking–a matte gloss sounds like a total contradiction. But fear not, because this product is exactly what it says it is. It goes on like a gloss but dries like a matte. It comes in 9 colors, so there’s a perfect shade for everyone. Although a little pricey at $9.99, this product can also be found in many drugstores so it’s bound to eventually go on sale, and usually L’Oreal can be applied to Ulta coupons.

3) L’Oreal Infallible Pro Contour Palette ($12.99, Ulta.com)

L’Oreal is keeping up with the contour game by coming out with its own collection of contour palettes. It comes in three shades–light, medium, and dark–so there aren’t a whole lot of options, but if it’s anything like the rest of the Infallible line, it will look great and be long-lasting. Like the Pro Matte Gloss, this product can also be found in many drugstores, so it will also probably go on sale at some point or can be applied to Ulta coupons.

4) Maybelline Color Tattoo Concentrated Crayon ($6.99, Ulta.com)

Maybelline’s Color Tattoo eye shadows are some of the best and most popular drugstore shadows on the market, so it’s no wonder they decided to revamp it and come out with their version of the crayon eye shadow. Hopefully it will live up to it’s name and be just as good as it’s predecessor.

5) L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation ($16.99, Ulta.com)

Recently, cushion foundations have spiked in popularity. Although they’ve been around as an Asian beauty staple for awhile now, so far there have really only been high end options. But not anymore! L’Oreal, also the creator of the popular Infallible Pro Matte foundation and the original True Match and True Match Lumi foundations, is one of the first drugstore brands to come out with a cushion foundation. The price tag may be high, but if you enjoy cushion foundations or the original True Match Lumi, $16.99 is a much better price than the $40+ you would be spending for high end cushion foundations.

6) CoverGirl TruNaked Eye Shadow Palettes ($11.99, Ulta.com)

This collection of palettes comes in three shades: Nudes, Goldens, and Roses. Like the names suggest, the Nudes palette includes 8 neutral shades, the Goldens palette includes 8 golden nude shades, and the Roses palette includes 8 rosy nude shades. Not only are they pretty, but they are suspiciously remnicient of Urban Decay’s Naked palettes, although CoverGirl’s palettes include 4 less shadows but are 1/5 of the price.

7) Sonia Kashuk Limited Edition 10 Piece Brush Set ($39.99, Target.com)

If you love high-end brushes but hate the high-end prices or are just a newbie to the makeup scene, this brush set is perfect for you. While these brushes aren’t exactly new, the gold design on the handle is unlike any of Sonia Kashuk’s other brushes. Not only is this brush set gorgeous, but if the brushes are anything like Sonia Kashuk’s other brushes, the quality will be fantastic, too. And although this set is a little on the pricey side, you are getting ten brushes, while in some cases you can spend $40 and only get one brush.

8) Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Palette ($58, Ulta.com)

If you’re a beauty fan, you’ve probably known about this product since Urban Decay announced it But if you haven’t heard about it, this palette is Urban Decay’s first ever collaboration, and like all of its other palettes, it does not disappoint. This palette is a great mix of neutrals with a few fun pops of color, which makes it perfect for someone who loves nude looks but wants to start playing with colors. It’s also a good combination of all of UD’s Naked palettes. And because I actually own this palette, I know for a fact that it’s fantastic.

Whether you’re just beginning to dive into the wonderful world of makeup or you’ve been a makeup fanatic for years, there’s bound to be something for you within all of the new, wonderful releases.
