How to Eat Healthily Without Going Poor
We’re already almost half way through summer, and a lot of people are late to the get-beach-body-ready party. I know that eating healthy is expensive. And I know that a lot of people don’t have money trees around. So how are you supposed to eat healthy without burning a hole in your pocket? Here are some tips!
1. COUPONS- Use them! Some stores like HEB and Kroger have in-store coupons. Also, most places will match the price of their competitors if you show them that another store is selling something cheaper.
2. GENERIC BRAND- Let’s be honest, store-brand foods taste just the same as name-brands, but they’re a lot cheaper.
3. FROZEN FOOD- Fresh fruits and vegetables are nice, but we won’t always eat them before they go bad. Don’t throw your money away. Buy frozen fruits and veggies that have long lives.
4. WATER FILTER- Water is good for you. But buying bottles or gallons each time you run out, your money is running away too. If you invest in a filter instead, you can turn your kitchen sink water into delicious, quality H2O.
5. LIST- I’m guilty of making a “mental” list at times, and I end up buying stuff that I don’t really need. Make a physical list, be it on paper or on your phone, and stick to it.
6. SALES- Stores are always having some sort of sale. Take advantage of them.
Stay healthy. Don’t splurge. Enjoy.
