10 Last Minute Halloween Costumes for College Students

Have you finally emerged from the library and the havoc that is midterms only to find that it is Halloween and you have no costume? Have no fear! Below are 10 easy costume ideas for college students on the go. Whether you have no time left to get a costume, no money to buy a costume, or no creative motivation there is an idea below just for you!

1. Sports Super Fan

We all have one sports team we love and support! Use Halloween as an excuse to show off your team spirit!

What you need to do: Break out all of sports gear for your favorite team and put it all on at once. Break out the jerseys, hats, foam fingers, and anything else you have. Bonus points if you paint your face in team colors!

2. Bag of Jelly Beans

Whats better than being candy for a holiday dedicated to candy? Nothing!

What you need to do: Wear basic colored clothing as the base to your costume. Get a clear bag and fill the bag with either balloons or water balloons. Then print out the jelly bean logo and tape it to your outfit. You can add crazy colored socks or hair accessories for an extra pop of color!

3.  Self-Portrait

Have absolutely no time or energy left? Go as yourself for Halloween!

What you need to do: Grab a picture frame from your room or pick up a cheap one and carry it around all night. When people ask what you are hold up your frame and give them a candid glance. Bonus points if you make goofy faces and take photos to upload to your Instagram and Facebook later!

4.  Regina George From Mean Girls

Want to be trendy and cool? Channel your inner mean girl!

What you need to do: Wear a tank top or shirt you don’t mind cutting up and a bright colored bra or tank top underneath. Cut two holes in over your boobs.  Pair your shirt with a cute skirt and you’re good to go.

5. Nerd

Embrace your inner nerd with this geeky homemade costume.

What you need to do: Grab a pair of glasses with a bandage in the middle. Wear suspenders if you have them, or pull your pants or skirt up high and tuck your shirt into them. Button-down shirts are particularly nerd-worthy so wear one if you have one. If you have a bow tie wear that or borrow one from a nerdy friend. Add pens or a calculator in your shirt pockets to add to your nerdiness. If you are feeling up to it you can carry around several books or papers.

6. Mummy

If your roommates won’t mind the sudden lack of tp, being a mummy is super easy and a quick way to embrace a Halloween classic.

What you need to do: Wrap yourself in toilet paper from head to toe. Wear whites clothes underneath to make your wrapping job a little easier. You can add some ketchup for blood or roll around in the dirt to add a gory effect.

7. Doctor

Have a lab coat from your science lab class or know a friend who does? Dress up as doctor and act smart for the night!

What you need to do: Wear a lab coat with nice clothes underneath. Try to find a stethoscope or make one with cardboard. If you happen to have scrubs from an internship wear those under your coat. Add glasses and a ‘Dr’ name tag for an extra touch.

If you have a favorite doctor from a TV show like Grey’s Anatomy channel your inner fan knowledge and act like them for the night! (If you’re being Dr. McDreamy let me know and I’ll be your Meredith in a heart beat!)

8. College Athlete

If you happen to be a college athlete this costume is super easy!

What you need to do: Grab your sports uniform and a piece of well-known equipment, whether it be a football or your baseball glove.  Bonus points if you come straight from practice and are super sweaty!

9. Dominos

Grab a group of friends for a quick and fun group costume idea! Everyone will know who you came with and it will be harder to loose your friends when you look alike.

What you need to do: Wear black clothes and cut out white dots to tape to your outfit. If you have a white belt wear that or just cut out a white strip for the middle divider. Make sure you and all your friends are different numbers.

10. When Life Gives You Lemons…
