Fall into October: It's Finally Here!
It is officially October, or as most of us recognize it as being the month of pumpkin literally everything. As fall begins, the weather changes, our style changes, and midterms are unfortunately on the rise.
Once the holidays roll around, there is no way to escape the too early Halloween, Thanksgiving, and (let us not forget) Christmas decorations found at every and any store. It seems as though everyone suddenly craves pumpkin flavor anything because they have been deprived for months on end. You can however go to the store and purchase the extract, but I get that that takes away from the whole experience.

Pumpkin spiced coffees.
So long hot summer days and tanks, hello cold weather and sweaters! What accompanies the festive, notably orange and black month are not only “trick or treat” signs or not-that-scary scarecrows, but steaming coffee goodness and winter boots that have been in the back of your closet collecting dust for what seems like forever. It is safe to say that you should expect to see scarves in abundance, whether at a football game, or walking to your nearest Dunkin Donuts, or Starbucks. Also, do not forget the agitation you have toward overly heated rooms, restaurants, or stores. We get that it is quite chilly outside, but we do not want to deal with sweating through two layers plus a jacket. Save us some sanity and laundry please.
It is apparent that the month of October tends to bring with it an excess of school work. Instead of candy, professors love to throw exams, papers, and assignments into your trick or treat basket. Being about halfway through the semester, students everywhere know that midterms are right around the corner. It does not help that all we want to do is go chill outside in a hammock listening to John Mayer or Coldplay, not be stuck in doors writing a ten page paper. But then again, welcome to college, where the weather does not orchestrate the amount of homework given.
The end of the year is no doubt approaching, and in turn we are that much closer to the festive holidays slightly overwhelming us. We have the chance of seeing pumpkin spice flavor coffee, desserts (anything you can imagine really), at most cafes and coffee shops. We also can finally dig up last year’s sweaters and fuzzy socks because they will soon become a necessity. And of course, remember that college is not all about football and breaks between classes, but also actually attending those classes and doing well enough on midterms to make mom and dad proud. Plus, they might send you a Starbucks gift card which would make everyone happy.

Fall leaves.
