New Music and Arts Festival to Hit Florida in 2016
Get ready to add Florida to the list of places your favorite music festival’s located in, because the latest announcement from Soundslinger LLC is stellar. Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival, brought to us by the likes of Bonnaroo’s SuperJams, is scheduled for March 4-6th, 2016 and is set to feature ”once in a lifetime artist collaborations.” Advertised to feature over 80 musical artists from around the world, OMAF will also feature contemporary physical artists and their work, along with some of Florida’s best edible attractions: food trucks and awesome catering booths.
Promoters have said OMAF is looking like the largest camping festival in Florida, which, to be fair, is not saying much. Florida’s biggest music festivals definitely bring in the crowds (cough cough Ultra), but the ones that offer camping are smaller scale (cough cough Hulaween).
To be held at Florida’s Sunshine Grove, OMAF will sit on 800 acres of land; definitely enough room for camping, the five stages, and leftover room for activities. Aside from the stages and the camping areas, the festival plans to exhibit a lake-front, soft sand beach area for festival goers to take a breather at. In addition to the beach, several art installations will be displayed throughout the weekend, as well as interactive art displays that encourage the creativity of the festival goers. OMAF’s location allows for several different camping experiences, enabling the festival to offer VIP wooded cabins as well as General Admission camping. Yoga and meditation workshops will also be offered.
Orchestrated by Soundslinger LLC, the promoters and producers responsible for Bonnaroo, Outside Lands and STORM in China, OMAF is sure to be the perfect spring getaway. Despite the excitement over the initial announcement, no set lineup has been revealed yet. The production team has assured that the acts will transcend genre, creating a cohesive musical experience.
The festival’s announcement appeared on their website (access that here) and lays out the virgin trails of beautiful, woodland Florida. You can watch the first trailer for Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival on Youtube, here. Soundslinger LLC aims to produce a festival big enough and satisfying enough to land a spot on the list next to Coachella and Bonnaroo, and it won’t be long until people all over the world travel to Florida to make that happen.
