Gettysburg Greets Greatness: Prince Harry Comes Stateside
To quote the Gettysburg’s “About the College” page, GBC has a “historic setting near urban centers: an hour to Baltimore, 90 minutes to Washington, D.C., [and] two hours to Philadelphia.”
His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales, known more generally as simply Prince Harry, will be crossing the pond this October as part of a string of his charity work, according to Today News. While he won’t be stopping in Gettysburg directly, the College’s proximity to D.C. allows a very real possibility of a royal sighting for the Gettysburg community.
Harry will be coming to the States in regards to the 2016 Invictus Games, an event that uses “the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect for wounded, injured and sick Servicemen and women.” The games will take place in Orlando from May 8-12th.
