How long should a campaign be?

It’s 5 months until the election, and already the campaign has embraced the White House, with The New York Times writing of the schedule and time consumption that has now taken hold of the president.

Even as the initial beginnings of the selection of the Republican nominee for President, a study from the Pew Research Center from January of this year notes that the campaign was already too long, dull and too negative.
