Can New York be the next Silicon Valley?

For technology start up companies, New York has become the next Silicon Valley.

“We went to Silicon Valley because they understood how big we wanted to get, and we moved back to fulfill that promise.” That is Doug Imbruce’s approach to his company Qwiki, and its 15 employees, which now operate out of a loft in New York’s Soho district.

There is, however, a separate trend. Start ups are departing Silicon Valley in California and moving to New York. There are opportunities for them that Silicon Valley sometimes cannot match.
