Fashion Trends In 2015
New Year’s Eve marks the end of another year come and gone and celebrates the possibilities of what lies ahead. For many, the excitement lies in working on those resolutions: getting in shape, picking up a few books to reads or possibly making more time to be with family and friends. For fashion enthusiasts like myself, it means new trends to spice up your wardrobe. From the looks of Spring 2015 Fashion Week back in September, there is a lot to look forward to this year.
1. The Romantic Bohemian: It’s no secret that the bohemian style has been popular in recent years, and it looks like the 70s style will continue on this year with long, romantic bohemian dresses. Maybe opt for this chic boho look instead of the high waisted shorts this festival season.

2. Flared Pants: In carrying on with the revival of the 70s fashion, flare pants were everywhere on the run way from Victoria Beckham, Emilio Pucci and Acne Studios to Coach, Valentino and Derek Lam, just to name a few.
3. Sky High Gladiators: The Spring/Summer 2015 runway shows were dominated by flats, sneakers and gladiator sandals. Vogue predicts it will be “the sandal of 2015.” The look was also featured on the Alexander McQueen, Valentino, Alberta Ferretti, Fausto Puglisi and Erdem runways.
4. Gingham: This bold “picnic banket-esqe” pattern was quite popular, especially on the runways of Oscar de la Renta, Diane von Furstenberg and Michael Kors. Check out some of the great looks for inspiration here.
5. Suede: Again, an ode to the 70s era. Whether it be in jacket, dress, boot or pant form, suede is the hot item to have in your closet come spring time. Don’t be afraid to stray away from shades of brown either.
6. Shoulders: Look for off the shoulder or one shoulder dresses and tops. It’s a powerful, feminine look without the masculinity that shoulder pads can bring. Not that anyone wears shoulder pads these days.
6. Platform Shoes: Say goodbye to pumps! I’m skeptical as to how popular these shoes will actually be this year, but regardless, they were in countless shows. Check out some of the craziest platforms from fashion week here.
