Tickets for all four days were sold out within five minutes of being posted. So as you can imagine, the predominately Floridian audience welcomed Fallon and his guests with a great deal of cheering and applause.  A Florida State student and avid Jimmy Fallon fan, Erin Petty attended the filming of the second episode on June 17th, featuring guests Kevin Hart and Jimmy Buffett.  Petty says “attendees were not allowed to take pictures in the studio, but were able to do so at the Jimmy Buffett concert, that concluded the episode.”  The picture below was taken at the closing Jimmy Buffett concert this past Tuesday.

In regards to what happens on the stage of The Tonight Show during commercial breaks, Erin Petty said “The breaks were not as long as the actual commercial breaks appear when aired on T.V. During the breaks, Jimmy Fallon would talk to us and explain what was going to happen next.  He would then he usually stepped off and would have his makeup fixed, while the cameras changed positions.  If there were guests on the stage, they would generally sit and converse with Jimmy.”

In response to the main difference between watching The Tonight Show live versys taped for television, Petty said “First off, you get to see Jimmy.  Secondly you’re able to experience everything as whole, instead of  just seeing specific camera angle on T.V.  You also get to see everything the crew does.”

For Petty, the day consisted of arriving by 10 a.m to check-in, after checking in guest were able to leave, but were expected to return again by 4 p.m.  At four, guests were given their seat numbers and expected to be seated by 4:45pm, for instructions regarding the opening of The Tonight Show, that was to begin being filmed at 5 p.m. The filming took place for two hours, then at 7 p.m, guests were escorted into the Universal Studios Park, and could return to the outside of the studio at 8:45p.m, for the closing Jimmy Buffett concert.  Overall, Petty says “It was up there with one of the best days of my life. I’ve been a huge Jimmy Fallon fan since he was on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.  I never thought he would come to a location near me, I thought I would have to make the trip to New York.  So seeing him in Orlando was a convenient and pleasurable experience I was fortunate to have.”  The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, was full with admirers from all over state that were more than pleased with their experiences as an audience. It was an opportunity that Floridians were more than grateful to have participated in.
