Things That Guys Wear That Girls Love
It’s no secret that dressing well can vastly improve your looks. It’s also not a secret that ladies tend to pay attention to how a guy dresses. A sharp-dressed man catches their eye and gives them a sign that he knows a thing or two about fashion. There are also a few clothing items that women just seem to love to see guys wearing.
Guys don’t necessarily have to keep up with the trendy looks that seem to change every couple of months. All they need are a few basic items that they can incorporate into their everyday style. Here are just a few of those items that guys wear that girls love:
Plain, Clean Tee: This look is fresh and simple. It doesn’t take away from a guy’s natural appearance. It’s perfect for a casual, everyday look. It can be paired with nice shorts or plain, dark jeans for a laid-back, yet stylish, outfit. Either slip on a plain white tee or your solid favorite color (bonus points if it matches your eyes!). The plain tee can also be a base if you want to experiment with layering by adding a sweater or jacket to the mix. Just make sure your colors and patterns coordinate.
A Pair of Nice (or at least Stylish) Shoes: Dingy-looking shoes or tennis shoes so worn that they have permanently been ruined by holes, scratches and dirt aren’t exactly impressive. Shoes can make or break your outfit, and outdated or dirty shoes can break it even if everything from the ankles up looks great. Invest in a nice pair of stylish shoes. You can even get a pair for everyday use and a pair for more dressy events. Some styles to try include Oxfords, clean Timberlands, Sperry shoes or a nice-fitting pair of Vans.
Dark Fitted Jeans: A staple pair of pants for a guy to own should include a set of dark, fitted jeans. These jeans will be in style every season and have a continuously clean and classy look. Make sure the jeans don’t have rips and obvious fades. The majority can work the fitted style of jeans successfully and the dark color allows for some flexibility in how dressed up you can make the jeans.
For a relaxed, casual look, just pair the jeans with a t-shirt or hoodie. For more business casual attire, throw on a button-down shirt, nice shoes and a sports jacket. The simple style will always be in, unlike some jeans fads like light washes, purposeful tears and a skinny cut.
Sleeves Rolled to the Elbow: Something about seeing three-quarter sleeves on guys just screams style and strength. Try out a classic jersey tee, or roll any long-sleeved shirt or sweater to the elbows. Pair this look with jeans or nice shorts and you’re sure to pull off a casual, but definitely hot, look.
Aviator Sunglasses: Aviators tend to look good on pretty much everyone. They also always seem to be in style. If you are never sure which kind of sunglasses look best on you and struggle with which ones to buy, try opting for a pair of aviators and stepping into the sun.
From mirrored to color tinted, you are sure to find a pair that captures your style. They look good all year long and are a definite staple to any summer outfit. They work for dressed-up or casual looks, including just being outside for the beach or a game of catch.
A Leather Jacket: Leather jackets are stylish and classic. Don one and you’re sure to look like a guy who has got it going on. Women loved it when Elvis Presley wore them in the mid-twentieth century, and we love when celebs like Justin Timberlake and Channing Tatum wear them now.
If you aren’t sure if you can pull off the leather jacket, try opting for a color other than black at first, like dark brown. Of course, if you are going to wear this eye-catcher, make sure you have stylish pants and shoes to match. You’re sure to turn some heads with this rocker/motorcycle/manly look.
A Well-Tailored Suit: While the occasion to wear a suit may not come up as frequently as the previous items on the list, it’s definitely one of the most important styles to get right. A suit that fits just right is a vast improvement from one that is too tight or too loose on your frame.
The Seattle Times even covered a study in which sets of online profiles for a dating site were created. The men in the profiles each had one picture of themselves in a baggy suit and one picture in a well-tailored one. In all five major cities that this survey was set up (four in America), the pictures of the men in tailored suits got more positive attention than the countering photo and the men were contacted more often.
Lesson learned: your style can make a noticeable difference. If you pay attention to your looks, ladies will too.
