Former Michigan wide receiver Jeremy Gallon may not be the tallest prospect in the 2014 NFL Draft, but he sure plays like he is.

In 2013, he finished with 89 receptions for 1,373 yards and nine touchdowns and even finished his career with some records set in the process. On Oct. 19th vs. Indiana, Gallon set a Big Ten record with 369 receiving yards in a single game, which was also second most in FBS history.

At 5’8 and weighing in at 187 pounds, Gallon has shown he has the ability to beat corners one on one throughout the course of his career. His size compares to the likes of Denver Broncos receiver Wes Welker. Welker is 5’9 and weighs 185 pounds and has had tremendous success over his NFL career.

What makes Welker such a successful receiver is what will make Gallon a success in the NFL as well—the ability to run great routes. When you watch film on Gallon, he is a receiver that runs great routes with the ability to go up and adjust to catch any ball you throw his way. He has great moves to pick up yards after the catch and does a good job protecting the football when it comes to not fumbling it to the opposing team.

Gallon has shown he can compete time and time again on any Saturday in college football. During a game in which he was commentating, ESPN College Gameday analyst Kirk Herbstreit said “Gallon I personally believe pound for pound is one of the most dynamic receivers in college football.”

He has toughness and heart, two things you look for in any player when deciding whether or not you are going to draft a player.  While Gallon is not considered to be drafted until the later rounds of the NFL Draft, one thing is for sure: this “small” receiver will bring a huge punch to any NFL team.
