A Chocoholic's Guide to Valentine’s Day: Top 10 Chocolate Gifts for Single Ladies

After 21 years of solo taste-testing, I am finally ready to present to you my expert chocolate ranking—just in time for Valentine’s Day. Hopefully, my suggestions will make their way from a single gal’s heart straight to my future boyfriend’s shopping cart. But until then, I’m all set to order each and every one of these decandant masterpieces once they go on sale next week. Ladies, you’ll be thanking me later.

10. Kilwin’s Cuddle Up Basket: $24.99, buy here.

Kilwin’s promises this basket is perfect for “shar[ing] with that someone special,” but, personally, I think their handmade Caramel Corn is too good to share. Starting us off is a basket perfect for cuddling up with in front of the couch on ~~Valentine’s Day~~ ANY day of the week.

If you don’t have a boyfriend to take you out, why not spend the night with these fancy-looking fellows? They look (and taste) better in a tuxedo than any groom I know!

8. Chuao Chocolatier’s Craft Beer Chocolate Bar Set: $24 for four bars and a beer, here.

Chocolate? Good. Booze? Good. Getting a head start on your “ladies’ night out?” Even better. Honestly, the only bad thing about this set is the choice between “potato chip” or “maple bacon” flavored chocolate bars. I’ll take one of each, please.

I can’t remember when I first met Rocher, but I do know that we’ve been together for a long, long time. In fact, I’m not embarrassed to say that this is the longest relationship I’ve ever been in. From the crunchy, hazelnut-filled outside, to the smooth, creamy, milk chocolate-filled wafer center, Rocher sure knows the key to my heart. This past spring, I spent Valentine’s Day in Europe where I discovered these dark chocolate Langues de Chat at Mary, the famous Belgian chocolatier. Langues de Chat or “cat tongues” are light, miniature chocolate bars found in many European and South American countries. Needless to say, these “cat tongues” are the perfect Valentine’s for future crazy cat ladies such as myself. Meow.

2. Toblerone’s 14.1 oz Chocolate Bar: found at most grocery stores, drug stores, and airports.

This giant 14 oz Swiss chocolate bar is probably bigger than your head. Weighing in at just under a pound of chocolate, honey, and almond nougat, if you can finish this baby in one sitting, I commend you.
