Spoon University Hits UMD
On a college campus of over 20,000 students, it can be difficult to find one topic most students have in common. But hey, I can give it a shot: food. And for those who want to know about all things cooking and eating, Spoon University has got you covered.
Started by Northwestern University graduates Mackenzie Barth and Sarah Adler, Spoon University is an online food magazine dedicated to “encourage conversation and inspire exploration.” The magazine offers kitchen tips, recipes and “ Food For Thought,” a section devoted to stories like “Quiet Snacks that Won’t Make You Feel Like an Asshole in the Library” and “8 Ways to Take Grilled Cheese to the Next Level.”
The magazine has chapters on over ten college campuses, including Cornell, Dartmouth and New York University. Now, Spoon is coming to the University of Maryland.
