Tis The Season For NBA Bandwagon Fans.

By Rebecca Ahdoot on October 28, 2013

There are die hard fans, and then there are bandwagon fans. Perhaps the best definition of a bandwagon fan is someone who switches support between teams based on their success at the time. Now let’s see who will have the greatest amount of bandwagon fans this season.

Miami Heat:

While LeBron is one of the most hated players in the league, there’s no denying he’s a beast. The two time defending NBA Champions are looking for a 3-peat this season. Who doesn’t want to root for a team that wins? With those promotional videos it’s hard not to be intrigued by the Heat they bring.

Brooklyn Nets:

If you were a fan of the Celtics, it may be inevitable that you end up on the Nets’ bandwagon this season. The Brooklyn Nets acquired Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Jason Terry from Boston and named Jason Kidd head coach. They have a scary lineup this season: Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Brooke Lopez and the two former Boston boys. Let that sink in for a moment.

Los Angeles Clippers:

Expectations have been high for the “Junior Varsity” team of LA since they acquired Chris Paul in 2011. After a disappointing post season in which people believed they would take it to the Western Conference Finals, the Clippers are back. With the addition of a few players and new head coach Doc Rivers, this may just be their season.”We’re trying to win the NBA,” Doc stated, and they sure can. Needless to say the Clippers are one of the most entertaining team to watch, so why not jump on their bandwagon? Besides, Lakers fans need someone to root for this year.

Golden State Warriors:

The Golden State Warriors often go unnoticed as underdogs, but after getting to the second round of the playoffs, it seems like their fan base has increased. With the newest addition of Andre Iguodala, expectations are high. With his defensive skills, demeanor in the paint, and being paired with teammate Stephen Curry who rains threes, the Warriors are soon on their way to the becoming one of top teams in the NBA; a perfect place for Bandwagon fans.

Chicago Bulls:

It seems like forever since we last saw Derrick Rose suited up, and while the jokes were funny about his prolonged recovery, he’s finally back. Rose has already shown signs of explosiveness during preseason, and he is officially making a comeback. The Bulls’ went far last season without Rose, imagine the lengths they’ll go this season. Their star is back from the sidelines, and I’m thinking they’ll have a few more fans than they had last season.
