ZOMBIES! RUN!!

Run for your lives, zombies are after you!!!

It’s that time of the year for all the fun haunted houses, creative costumes, and lets not forget all the zombie runs that will be taking place across the country.

I believe ever since zombie movies and television shows like the Walking Dead began zombies have become a huge deal. Why not make it fun for people to run from zombies in races during Halloween time?

Zombie runs are being held throughout the country.

A website called Run For Your Lives is a website that helps you track down a 5K race in your area that you can attend and run in. Anyone is aloud to run. Just prepare yourself to be running for your life! You will need to be ready to test your speed, endurance, and strength. Think you are ready?

The benefit to these races are you can either be a runner or be a zombie that chases the runners. Preferably I would rather be a runner, it would be a lot more fun and more of an adrenaline rush to be on the lookout for zombies coming after you.

Hopefully a race will be available in your area so make sure to check out the locations tab. If there isn’t one available, many cities still have their own zombie run.

Being from the Quad Cities area in Iowa, B100 Radio Station is hosting their own 5k Zombie run. Night of the Running Dead. The two races will be held on October 19th, 2013 at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport, IA. Check out the website for more details on the race and if you’re interested be sure to sign up quick! Zombie Nation Run. Cost is $40 for Adults 18+. $35 for Ages 13-17.

The Zombie Run will involve obstacles for you to complete as you dodge and escape from the flesh eating zombies that are after you. You must wear a flag belt during the race and have to cross the finish line with at least one flag left on your belt which means you have survived!

A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit Special Olympics of Iowa Athletes.
