6 Necessities to Survive Spring Break

Spring break is rapidly approaching and soon you will have to pack. There are so many expectations that go along with this week you won’t want to forget anything at home! Here are six things that will help you be prepared for the fun trip that lies ahead.

1. Cute bathing suits and cover-ups

If you are going to a warm location you will definitely find yourself needing a bathing suit. I like to pack multiple for a couple of reasons. First, in case someone stains one of your suits or it somehow breaks you will have a backup (you can never foresee these accidents that are inevitable with drunk students running around).

Second, you will look cute and trendy changing up your look every day! Switching bathing suits or mix and matching tops and bottoms is great for when you want to Instagram more than one picture without looking the same!

And … with every great bathing suit comes a cute cover-up! I suggest a big tunic; it is comfy, cute, and light. Perfect for warm weather!

2. A good book

While this may seem comical to some of you who do not think you’ll be reading on your trip, a book is always good to carry with you! Something light, we aren’t talking Shakespeare here. You can read on the plane to pass the time, or, maybe one day you will be too tired/hungover to move and you and your friends just want a day to lie by the pool.

3. Sun tan lotion (and SPF lip balm)

Right now all you can think about is getting tan over break, I know. We are all sick of being pale from the winter, but you still need some SPF! If you wear sun tan lotion while you’re out in the sun I promise you will still get tan and let’s be honest, peeling skin is not attractive on anyone!

A BONUS TIP: bring SPF lip balm. I have burnt my lips before, and take it from me, the feel of stinging, dry lips is not a good one to have.

4. A “pump-up” playlist

You will always need music; whether you are throwing your headphones in on the plane to start getting excited for your trip or plugging into a speaker in your hotel room before going out, good music is a must!

5. Baggies

One of the more odd items on the list, but baggies are a life saver … literally! If you do not have a life proof case, which majority of you probably don’t, a baggie will save your phone’s life. While you are by the pool or on the beach throw your phone in a baggie and protect it from water (and sand because that can get stuck in your headphone jack).

You are still able to use your phone through the plastic but now you won’t have to worry if someone splashes you or spills their drink.

6. Aspirin

Last but not least, the magical potion: Aspirin. You will undoubtedly need pain relief by the end of the trip.

Now that you have a solid list of things to bring, you are all set to have an amazing time on break!
