At some point in either your college or young professional years, you will move into an apartment. It’s a great feeling to have your own place and a full kitchen, but apartments come empty, leaving it up to you to bring furniture. It’s something that may slip some people’s minds because when they tour an apartment it is already furnished, so they assume it will look like that when they move in.

Don’t let this worry you, though, as there are plenty of affordable options to furnish your newly rented apartment. Furniture rental is an economically beneficial way to furnish your apartment! It has little commitment and is cheaper than buying brand new furniture.

You Need A Lot

While living at home, you may not realize just how many things you needed to function, until you make a list of the things you need in your new apartment.

Let’s first focus on the bedroom. You’ll need a bed and a mattress; a dresser; hangers for your closet; curtains for the windows; something to hang your wet towels on; and maybe a desk and chair so you can do your homework.

Then there’s the kitchen, where you will probably want some kind of table and chairs along with utensils, dishes, cups, and other cooking necessities. Don’t get me started on the living area!

It’s a lot of stuff to buy at once to furnish your apartment. Most rental furniture companies have premade packages that include all of the furniture you will need, so you don’t have to worry about forgetting something important.

Cost-Effective

New furniture is expensive. It can cost up to thousands of dollars to furnish an entire apartment. Renting your furniture, just like renting a home instead of buying one, comes out to be cheaper. Attending a college or university is already expensive and so is rent, so why would you want to spend more money on buying furniture?

If you live with roommates, you can all split the cost of the furniture in the living areas and kitchen, making it even less costly for you! So, that $700 you may have spent on a couch can be spent on furnishing an entire room.

No Commitment

It isn’t uncommon for recently graduated students to pick up and move to another city than where they attended college. Moving involves packing, lifting, and unpacking, which is never fun for anyone. Not to mention finding a way to move an entire apartment to another location at once.

When you rent your furniture, there is no commitment! Once you’re done, you can give it back. You’re free to move to whichever city, or country, you wish! There is no worry about what you can or cannot keep or how you are going to move everything.

Once you get to your new hometown, you can rent your furniture again! You never know where life will take you. If one day you want to move abroad, you won’t have to worry about selling or getting rid of the furniture you can’t take with you.

Little to No Heavy Lifting

One of the best things about renting your furniture from a company is that they have people who will deliver the furniture and bring it right into your apartment. So those of you who chose to live on the third or fourth floor, this may be something to consider!

When your lease is up and it’s time to move out and onto a new apartment, don’t worry about moving your furniture, because the company will come and pick it up from you! Some people will pay hundreds of dollars just to have a company move their furniture, but when you rent your furniture, you’re covered!

It’s Cozy

You’ve seen the typical “college” apartment on television shows and in movies. It’s barren with mismatched furniture and usually missing something. There may be the classic futon or mattress on the floor in the bedroom too.

When you rent your furniture, you are guaranteed to feel at home. The furniture will match, be high quality, and comfortable. You’ll always have a bed to sleep on, instead of the floor, and a place to sit. College can be stressful, what with internships and finals, but having a place that feels like home and is comfortable makes the experience that much better.
