Decorating our apartments proves quite the task. There is color coordination, various patterns to select from, and simply the style of your furniture. It takes a lot of planning and time, but do not allow that to intimidate you.

An easy route to liven up your home is by brightening up the space through plants and flowers. It may sound like it is not really your element or type of thing, but I promise it is manageable for any and everyone.

All you really need to remember is to water them. Easy enough, right? Read below to discover the best flowers for your home and do not be afraid of purchasing some just because.

English Daisies

Also known as a common daisy, this flower is ideal for sprucing up your apartment because daisies are so bright. They are usually pink, yellow, or white and have super easy maintenance. Keep it near sunlight and water accordingly, and you should be good to go.

Although many flowers do not necessarily smell as good as popularly assumed, this one does not smell too bad. So if you have allergies to fragrances and such, you should be in the clear.

What this flower says about you is that you are undeniably bright, appreciate some color in your life, and look forward to new beginnings. Or you could just really like the colors which is fine too. Regardless, it works great as a centerpiece and your grandma will be proud. We all know someone who takes their gardening a little too seriously.

Pansies

Pansies are considered garden plants because they cultivate outside, but also have many species related to it. It is a flower family indeed, y’all.

These flowers also range in color, which is nice to know that even foliage decides to not discriminate. Common hues are purple, yellow, blue, and white. These look great inside, even though they are common outside (but what plant isn’t?), because they not only bring light to an otherwise dark, evasive room, but also tie in colors from your house.

They have seasonal varieties, more common in the summer and winter, although I like them for fall because they connect the two seasons. Good news is that they exist for every season and it is never too late to find them. Cheers to it being fall, guys.

Cacti

Yes, cacti are considered plants but maybe not necessarily flowers. Though many may be turned off to the idea given they hurt, stab, and wound you, they are still very gracious plants in my opinion.

For one, they have almost 2,000 different family members which is insane and makes the pansy look like, well, a pansy. The cactus is an acting succulent, which means that its spine sucks up and basically stores water (cacti lack leaves, in layman’s terms). Cue every idea you have of a cactus living in the desert.

With the cactus in your house, it highlights a dim, more mysterious choice of style because it is not as obnoxious as a daisy, but it still makes a statement. If someone has this in their house, then I am surely not messing with them. And you should not either.

Sunflower

The common sunflower also goes by the name of Helianthus and I dig it because it sounds like the exact opposite of a sunflower. Ya know, with connotations and all.

It is notoriously yellow, and reminds people of the sun because of this reason. It also attracts birds and bees because of its pollen so watch out in case you are stung. Do not say I did not warn you. But it is a great addition to any household and can cheer you up on depressing days. We all have those, unfortunately.

Sunflowers are also interesting because they are really simple to style around. Decorations usually have the same color scheme, and it is not as completely in your face as roses can sometimes be. Plus, the petals fall so that can be fun. “I love you, I love you not,” anyone?

With any of these specific flower options, the choice is obviously yours. You can go with the bright approach, or be more down to earth with it. Regardless, you should definitely feel accomplished because you are actually taking care of a living organism. Unless you forget to water it, but I have already reminded you of that so stay on top of it, people.

With any of these the decorating comes easy because you have a centerpiece to your house, or more specifically, room. And if all else fails, at least you have something pretty to come home to after a disastrous day.
