For the boys

A Pair of Bermuda Shorts

Many times on spring break, you’ll see guys who wear their swim trunks seemingly throughout the entire trip. But guys, trust me when I say that no girl will be impressed with you when they see you strolling through the bar at night still in your swim trunks from earlier in the day.

That means you’ll need an alternative pair of shorts for those warm spring nights. So give the trunks a rest and opt for a pair of Bermuda shorts instead.

Bermuda shorts were big on the men’s spring/summer 2015 runways. You might be wondering what Bermuda shorts are, but they really aren’t that much different than those shorts you know by the name of Chubbies.

The only difference between Bermuda shorts and Chubbies is that Bermudas are slightly longer, hitting about an inch or inch and a half above your knee.

Shorter shorts are definitely in for guys, so frat stars, rejoice! Pack up your favorite pair of Chubbies or invest in a new pair of Bermudas and wear them as much as you want on spring break.

You’ll look fashion forward and much more clean cut and put together in a pair of tailored Bermudas than any other style of shorts. Try them in a light pastel color for a look that is perfect for spring break.

A Pair of Wayfarers or Aviators

On spring break there are always promotional events going on for various brands and more often than not they are giving out free stuff. Among that free stuff is usually a pair of super cheap, plastic wayfarers.

These sunglasses are great for the days where you’re raging on the beach and might lose or break the sunglasses you’re wearing, but you don’t want to be the douchebag who seemingly has them glued to their head.

For the times when you want to look like a normal guy, and not some cheap college frat boy, bring along a pair of wayfarers or aviators that you actually had to purchase on spring break. This doesn’t mean that you need some super expensive, designer pair of sunglasses, but buy a pair that won’t break the day you wear them and one that actually offers you some UV protection. Save those free pairs for the beach.

A Pair of Sandals (Not Flip Flops)

A lot of girls take issue with guys wearing flip flops. For some reason, many women don’t think guys should ever be caught dead wearing a pair of them, but that doesn’t mean all sandals are off limits. In fact, a big trend on the men’s spring/summer 2015 runways was sandals.

Avoid brown leather ones that encompass your entire foot to keep yourself from looking like a dad and definitely stay away from the hiking sandals. Instead, opt for a simple pair of sandals with two straps, one right below your toes and another before your ankle, like this pair found on Etsy.

A Baseball Hat

Believe it or not, baseball hats just got big in the fashion world. That means you have all the more reason to pack one (or more) up in your spring break suitcase.

The sun gets hot in those warmer climates and it’s always a good idea to cover your head from those dangerous UV rays. So why not keep cool and avoid a burn with one of your favorite baseball hats?

A Pair of Classic Blue Swim Trunks

You might not know this, but every year, Pantone, the authority on color, decides on a color of the year and a set of a few other colors that are going to be popular for the year. This year, classic blue happens to be one of them and what better way to incorporate this trendy color than in a pair of swim trunks?

When we think of the color blue we think of things like the ocean, waves and other nautical things, so a pair of swim trunks in nautical classic blue is perfect for your days on the beach, in the water and on the boat during your spring break trip.

Plus, blue looks good on virtually any skin color so there’s no reason not to pick one up ASAP.

It’s time to stop thinking about all of this wintry weather and time to start thinking about spring break. Guys, this list has everything you need to put in your spring break suitcase, so get shopping.
